The "honeymoon period" continues @ IIM K. With the number of lectures still at 2 per day, one has too much time on hands for someone like me who is not at all interested in studying.
Tired of Bakar and not being interested in watching movies, I finally decided to spend some time reading, something which I haven't done in lot of days.
The "in" book these days is "3 mistakes of my life" by Chetan Bhagat. The book in itself is extremely engrossing and is quite similar to any Masala bollywood flick.
It has all the stereotypical characters and situations one can find in a masala movie; an unemotional hero, close friends, damsel in distress, "shakuni" mama.... tailormade to be made into a movie just like his previous book. Still the fact that the story is woven around some real life events and has lots of doses of cricket and politics ensures that the book is never dull.
On the down side, the book is uni-dimensional in storyline, no twists and turns, everything is predictable. Also the author often provides too much of a mail dominated view.
But still despite that the book was really fun to read and interesting enough to complete it within a day.
Overall its still fun time at K with big plans for the "induction" of new batch to IIM K. But with the updated timetable coming to our mail boxes, its the first sign marking the end of party time.

The Party Rolls on
After the exciting first day of the new year @ K, the next day was equally fun though not so extravagant as the first one.
We created a cards club in Amit's room and spend all our time playing the new game " Least count". The fun part was that I won an exciting round where I survived despite being on the verge of losing in the final few rounds.
Speaking of Amit, Amit has his birthday today i.e. 14th June. However he had all plans to hide his birthday and save himself from the bumps from his friends. His plan would have succeeded as he had removed his birthday notification on Orkut and the fact that it was just a the start of the year.
But he made a small mistake and forgot that he had a Facebook account as well, and was finally caught and was given proper retribution. ;-)
So after a discussion on where to go for a party it was decided the actual party will take place on Saturday while another party was scheduled from Aniket @ Coffee Beanz post the batch meet.
As usual the party ended with a stroll on the beach. Another good thing about the beach is that, it is quite similar to Marine Drive and brings out a feeling of being near to my beloved Mumbai city.
So with another round of party scheduled on saturday, it makes 3 dinners in the city in 4 days of being back on Kampus
The party fever rolls on @ K!!!

Reboot
My second attempt at blogging.
I hope it is more sustained than the previous attempt.
The second year of the MBA journey has formally begun today, though the term has already started couple of days back.
The last two days were spend relaxing and getting back to Kampus mood.
The first day itself was great, dinner @ Chicking which felt much better, followed by watching Sarkar Raj @ Crown. The ticket price of Rs 45 is a welcome change from Rs 150 + tickets in Bangalore and Mumbai, where the costs were a major deterrent for the crap that was dished out by the film industry.
Overall the movie was average, it had a good beginning but the end was a let down. It might be due to the raised expectations from the hype created everywhere.
The movie was followed by the usual dose of icecream @ Kozhikode beach . It feels really peaceful to be back at sea after 2 long months away from it. The beautiful sound and the smell brings out a feeling of tranquility and soothes you especially after a hectic life in a metro.
The ride back was watery one with rain gods drenching us on the bikes. But the experience was none the less a nice one.
Today the classes have finally begun. Its a slow start but given that the term lasts only for two months, its bound to pick up speed sooner or later. In order to compensate for the smaller duration already the weekends have been taken over. But in all probability it will be a much better experience than last year where I took a lot of time adjusting to the new environment.
